I started DASHED on a bike in Boston in 2009 with a Rubbermaid container and one restaurant. We grew it into the largest privately-owned restaurant delivery platform in the Northeast — 700+ restaurants, named to the Inc. 5000 five years running — before selling to Grubhub.
In 2017, I moved to Boulder. I came for the running. I stayed because I realized the entire endurance industry was about to be rebuilt — and I wanted to build the companies that would do it.
I founded Boulderthon a few years later. 1,600 runners in year one. 17,000 today. Then Brooksee, where we now produce 8 of America's marquee marathons. Then Laurel, our AI-powered race technology platform now powering 250+ events worldwide. And The Future of Running podcast on Head Start — where I sit down with the CEOs shaping the next era of the sport.
The thesis is the same across all of it: endurance events are some of the most powerful storytelling moments in sports, and the future belongs to operators who can deliver them with technology, taste, and an obsessive focus on the runner experience.
